JOTTACLOUD APP FOR MACBOOK SOFTWARE

So backing up something like a VM image, or a large mail database is a pain.Ĭlick to expand. On the Mac side, you'll need an iSCSI Initiator, the software on the client device that actually talks to the iSCSI server, for each client. It re-sends large files after every change rather than doing a chunking/checkpointing of the file contents to only have to transfer modified content. I am currently using JottaCloud which is ok, but not very efficient. Needless to say, I had to stop using Backblaze, as a backup solution that tells you you are backed up for 7 months when you are not, cannot be trusted with your data. I would have thought they would want to get to the bottom of the problem, but they basically said "there is an issue that can occur with deduplication logic, but it is resolved in the newer client". Logs said the files were backed up, the client reported that the files were backed up, but nothing newer than 7 months showed up in the restore list. I then tried Backblaze and had it running for a number of years, until at some point I tried to restore a particular file and found that even though the Backblaze client had reporting successful backups for the entire time, my backups were invalid going back 7 months. I tried iDrive but ran into problems with restoring files (just couldn't get it to restore on my home pc). Originally used CrashPlan and really liked it, but they moved away from the home market and pushed home users to other solutions.

I have used/tried a number of these solutions over the years.
